Default Chronic Dieter....

Hi All! Just joined today! As my title suggests, I'm a chronic dieter. I seem to always be starting something. I lost a TON of weight a few years back, and I looked so good! Then I gained it all back and a few extra.

A few? HA! When I went out and bought size 16 shorts, I had enough. I did hCG and lost a lot of weight. LOVED it! It was the only thing that worked after so many years of trying and failing to lose weight. Sadly, I don't have it in me to do another round of HCG.

I did Atkins, and didn't see any results. But coming off of hCG, I shouldn't have been surprised. I was going to start the ongoing weight loss phaze of the Atkins, and increase my carbs and introduce new foods when I was sidetracked.... Between a couple of trips out of town and just not getting back on the wagon, I've gained about 20 pounds. Now I need to get back on track before my size 12s get any tighter.

My goal, lose about 40-50 pounds. My short term goal, lose 20 by October. Is that possible? I have another trip in October, and I want all of my friends to see a thinner me!

I was thinking about buying P90X. Anyone done that?

I'm heading out today to buy a Body Bugg. The reviews seem hot or cold, you either love it or hate it. I need a greater understanding of my body, and I need something that's easy to use. The less work fro me, the easier it is to stick with. I'm going to get back to Atkins, or a low carb eating style. That IP diet looks intriguing. We'll go from there.

Well, if you managed to get through my rambling, thanks for welcoming me to your support group! I look forward to getting to know new friends!

just a warning... after being in a caloric deficit that huge, from eating 500 cals a day, youre body is going to *prob* metabolically adapted.... severly... in which case, the BodyBugg (or Go-wearFit, or any of em) will NOT give you anywhere NEAR your true burn...... its going to be off.... WAY OFF... overestimating by hundreds (thousands?) a day. i think you should save your money and buy a 10 dollar pedometer so you can track how much you MOVE in a day. which is the only thing i think a body bugg would do for you, at this point. MOVEMENT is going to be key, and setting goals, like 10,000 steps a day is a great way to move more.
p90X in itsel will not really help you lose weight. DIET IS EVERYTHING> Only do P90X if you are going to eat enough to support it, and that does mean carbs...... your body needs carbs for recovery

dont know if 20 pounds is possible by OCt.... you didnt post your weight/height.

do you count calories? thats the thing with Atkins.. you can still go OVER the amount you need, caloricaly, while following the atkins plan, in which case you will not lose weight. Calories are everything. i suggest you START counting calories, and you can always make it Low carb, or whatnot... theres no telling what the HGC diet did to your body, and it may take a while for your metabolism to recover

not trying to be a downer

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR GOALS! you CAN lose the weight, i know it!!
Welcome

20 pounds may be a lofty goal if you want it off my Oct 1. However, 20 pounds should be pretty doable if you want it off my the end of Oct. But, isn't anything off by October a good thing? I try not to set possibly unrealistic goals for myself anymore because when I don't meet them, I just quit and this time I am not quitting. Good luck!

Thanks for the welcome! I got the Body Bugg, and I'm anxious to see what it tells me. Yup... I know 20# is lofty... I think I might be able to manage 15 with a lot of work. And I realized I gained 15, not 20, so that's kind of nice. I'll be realistic enough to realize I might not make that goal, but I'd like to see the scale move, at least.

Yes, I count calories and weigh and measure... My problem is when I don't see results fast enough (or at all), I lose motivation and fall off the wagon. Once off, it's hard to get back on. I'm not sure where exactly my problem lies, though. We'll see where I go this time.
