Default Hello everyone! From the state that gives you a High 5!

Hello Everyone!

My name is Sloan, I'm 30 years old and like everyone here (Or at least everyone at some point!) I'm trying to lose weight. I've been at this for the last 40 days and I've lost about 11 pounds. I've cut my calories. (I'm doing Slim fast shakes and a solid meal, no snacks.)

I've gained and lost weight most of my life, I was a dedicated Curves member years ago, dropped close to 60 pounds and was happy as a lark! My job changed, I wasn't able to go as much as I wanted to and put most of it back on.

Then after a while I just feel like I gave up. and slowly the pounds came back on.

Now, I'm tired of huffing and puffing up stairs! I want to be healthy, and I want to enjoy my thirties!

I'm learning i have next to zero will power when it comes to food. So im working to break my usual patterns when tempting food comes into my view.

My Ideal goal is 170 (which just seems outlandish to even type!)

But I've also learned that if i set the bar too high, and I have a bad month im more apt to quit, throw up my hands and devour a rack of ribs.

So, mini goals for now!

By October I would like to have lost 40 pounds, which means I only have 29 more to go.

Anywho, im rambling, I'm glad to have joined this community and im looking forward to learning, getting inspired and maybe, down the road giving some inspiration as well.

Welcome! I'm a few month to the big 30 and I too, refuse to spend my 30's fat. I just started calorie counting (from WW at home) and there is a great forum for that. We're all here for you
