Default Hello!

My name's Amanda & I'm a 21-year-old, recently single, stay-at-home mom. I've been overweight pretty much since I was in Elementary School (8 or so years old). A little better than four years ago I managed to get down to a healthy weight of 134lbs, then I ended up getting pregnant and gained around about 30lbs. Now I'm finally (as of today, woohoo!) back down to my pre-pregnancy weight and I'm starting to believe that I'll really actually be able to make it to my current goal weight of 123lbs, which is rather exciting for me since I don't think I've been that low since 5th or 6th grade!

So far, my plan of attack is doing the Power 90 program (3 weeks into it right now) and aiming to eat 1500-1700 calories a day. Before I started P90, I did a kettle bell workout nearly every morning for three months & lost 15lbs. Hopefully I can lose this last 13lbs with P90, then I plan on giving the Couch-to-5k program a shot (and maybe, some day in the distant future, actually do a 5k race)

I would LOVE to do a 5k race. But welcome to 3FC, and great job on that awesome weight loss!

Thank you very much
I always loved to run when I was a kid, but after I gained so much weight I just couldn't do it anymore. I was never able to run the mile in Gym class for the Presidential Fitness testing thing...I'd feel like I was going to pass out after trying to jog one lap. But I've definitely made some progress since then, so doing a 5k is really a big goal of mine. Wont happen this year, but I'm determined to do one before I'm 30, haha.

I was a fat kid, so I ran the mile, but I was always in the last two kids to finish (the other girl was tiny and just out of shape, but still beautiful, so guess which of us got flack?). I got into running when I was eighteen, but I have a bad knee, so I'm terrified of blowing it out. Working out in general feels awesome, though. Yay, endorphins!

Aw, sorry to hear about the knee problem. I used to have some issues with my back, but thankfully losing a few pounds helped a good bit (a little bit of exercising probably had something to do with it too, hah).
But yes, I certainly do agree that working out in general feels great. I just wish I would have realized that earlier in life...could have prevented a lot of my weight issues before they started. But oh well, better late than never

Haha, I have back problems, too, and I've already noticed a difference from dropping weight (oh, my boobage). But hey, at least we're getting fit now!

Oh dear, if I can tell I've lost weight from any one part of my body, it's definitely been my chest. Over the past few years, I've gone from a 38DD to a 36C. Quite depressing, actually Guess that's a small sacrifice to make for better health, though. At least I have my mom & younger sister that I can borrow clothes from until I can afford to replace all the things of mine that've gotten to big for me now, hah.
