Default Hello! :)

Hello everyone! This is my first post here. A little about myself...

I am a 29 year old, married, mother of 3. This is my first time of actually going on a diet, but it is long overdue. I began noticing my weight increasing after I started birth control pills; shortly before I got married. My weight increased more after being married, doing the cooking, and eating out more. With all 3 of my pregnancies, I gained much more than I should have 50-60lbs. My highest weight was at the end of my last pregnancy, at 245lbs. My baby boy is almost 3 months old now, and I had got my weight down to 213lbs where I seemed to have plateaued. Over the last 2 weeks my weight has gone down more. I had a week of stress and feeling somewhat depressed as my parents and younger siblings were moving across the country. Being from a close family of 6 kids the only sibling I have living close to me is 2hrs away, and everyone else is now cross country. Just last Wednesday my husband and I decided to become healthier and start a diet, also ensuring that we raise our kids healthy and show them good nutritional choices. (My husband only has about 10 lbs to lose, but it definately helps becoming healthier together.) My current weight is now 205.6lbs. Since starting our diet last week, I have gone down 4.2 lbs!

One of my concerns with dieting right now, is that I am BF my 3 month old. From all of the research I have done online, I see that I should be taking in at least 1800cal/day. Wondering if this is true for all women that are BF and on a diet? I know that you burn about 500cal a day with BF. I have been finding it difficult with getting in 1800 cals...I've been taking in 1400-1700cals on average this last week. I'm not sure if there is a forum on here about mothers on a diet that are BF or not (?), as I am new, and still need to look around more.

Looking forward to getting to know some ppl here, and continue to lose weight.

Welcome to 3FC! If you go to the main forum page with all the different sub-forums and topics listed, scroll down and about half way through the page you'll see 'Dieting with Obstacles'. Under that heading you'll see the sub-forum for Pregnant-Nursing. They should be able to help you out there!

While you're browsing, feel free to join any of the various support groups. We have them based on age, amount of weight to lose, and more! Hope you like it here!!
