so....

I hope I can keep up with this site. I am a 40yr old mom of a wonderful bright beautiful child who loves and supports all of my crazy childlike endeavors! I work in an office surrounded by coworkers who could all use to lose a few hundred pounds added up. All we do is sit and answer the phones....eat at our stations and I'm tired of trying to convince them to cut the crap eating. I'm doing on my own.

I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes in end of March. I was so stunned by what the doctor was telling me all I could register was my childs face in my mind. Needless to say....I cut out all the sugar and flour from my food as of that day. I have lost 24lbs. I walk half an hour in the morning and half an hour in the evening. My goal is to add 15 minutes to my routine.

Family members are noticing my weight loss but not questioning why. My struggle for control of this issue dates back to when I turned 10 and got my period. I started gaining weight then. I have tried all the diets and all the fads. But cutting out the sugar and flour seems to be working for me.

Well that's a little about me so far. I hope I can find some peace by posting my frustrations and acheivements here. Great loosing everyone!!

I have only recently joined and am also from So. CA. I have a 6 year old son and he is one of my biggest motivators as well. I work as a Medical Office Manager and sit at my desk for most of the day as well. We also have drug reps that bring treats into the office almost daily and they tend to be pastries, candies, and everything else possible that would be filled with sugar and carbs. I am doing the Ideal Protein protocol which cuts out carbs and sugar as well. I hope to drop about 80 lbs. Best of luck to you!
