Default San Francisco newbie here ready to REALLY DO THIS

Hi All,

I'm going to be turning 25 at the end of June and planned a fun girls trip to Vegas. I was getting pretty nervous and bummed out though, because I am at least 50lbs heavier than all of my friends. WOW it feels so weird to type that! 50 seems like so much. But anyways the trip got cancelled because I couldn't get the time off of work. It really struck a chord with me that I was RELIEVED. I mean, what gives?!

Basically I can't fit into my clothes anymore and I just feel super heavy all of the time now. Plus I'm binge eating just to do it.

I joined another thread to start Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred workout, just bought the DVD on Amazon. So excited!

My stats so far are: 5'4" and 177lbs. I'm aiming for 130 by January 1, 2012.

Welcome to 3FC.

I began 30 Day Shred last week (and am also on that thread) and really like it. After six days I can already feel the difference it's making in my ability to do the workout.

You may also want to check out some of the binge eating threads and the OA forum. There's a lot of good advice over there for how to get binges under control and out of your life.

Good luck!

Menlo Park here! And similar stats and goals, though you have a few lbs less than me. Welcome! This place is amazing! Funny thing, I also had a trip to Vegas in the cards, for this weekend, with my family, but my mom had a work thing in Carmel and we decided to post pone the trip. I, too, was very relieved, and then again stressed that I was relieved!

The funny thing is, I still don't FEEL like a "fat person", I still feel like the same girl who was playing basketball and doing gymnastics as I used to. I know my body can get there, because it was there once, but it just feels impossible! When I tried on a pair of True Religion jeans the other day I was just beyond sad that they couldn't even fit over my butt. One day! It's getting closer and closer every day! Let me know about the shred! Sounds intense!

Hi back to you ladies. So cool that some of you live near me! Maybe one day we can do a marathon or half marathon together! I really want to do the Avon or Susan G Komen walks for Breast Cancer...one day.

I woke up in a really good and hopeful mood. The sun is shining here in SF and after I drove my BF to work instead of stuffing my face (like I did yesterday with a breakfast bagel, slice of cake, AND McDonalds a few hours later) I went to the gym. I walked for 15 minutes and did the StairMaster for another 8. Didn't feel the burn too much but it still felt good. Then I went home and made 2 eggs with multigrain high fiber toast. And I had a glass of water and only a tiny sip of soda.

Maybe we can all post here periodically to check in with each other? I definitely will.

Happy Memorial Day!!
