Lazy Too Long

  • Hi! I am Jules. I was a former high school cheerleader with a body most women would kill for. Then when I was 19, PCOS began taking its toll on me. I am from Louisiana, and yall know how good the food is in cajun country. I have gained 200 lbs in 20 years. I am tired. Tired of being fat and tired of being tired. I work two jobs, sometimes 15-16 hour days, 6 days a week. Both are sitting down jobs. I get no excercise and quite frankly I HATE to excercise. I contribute it to being overweight. I have planters fasciatis (sp) in my heel and it simply hurts to walk 5 steps. I have recently been introduced to the drug VICTOZA and I love it. I have lost 23 lbs in 5 weeks. I am so excited about losing this weight. People are starting to notice the weight loss (mostly in my face) but I am confident that my pants size will be changing soon. I have a 15 yr old son with special needs and no other family that would be able/willing to care for him should something happen to me. I HAVE to get healthier for him. I am hoping being part of this group will give me the willpower, encouragement, and strength I need.
  • Welcome to 3FC =)

Congratulations on your work so far =)

Let's see... there's a section of Support Groups where you might find some extra support. 300lb+ area, and 100lb club.

I looked up Victoza and it seems to be a diabetes medication so if that's true there's a Dieting with Obstacles area where you'll find others losing weight with Diabetes.

You can do this so keep at it =)
  • Welcome! I have a special needs 12 year old also. I know the realities of no one else being willing to care for my son! I've been on diet 6 weeks now and lost 26 lbs. We can all do this if we set our mind to it!
  • When I first started I hated excercising too so I started counting my calories and cut down on what I was eating. I lost weight before I started excericing regularly by cutting my calories. Go for it women!
  • I would say don't worry about the exercising at the moment. It doesn't do much for weight loss anyways. What matters is how many calories you consume. Start tracking your food and tracking portion sizes and calories.
  • Girl, I live in Metairie and I TOTALLY understand you about the good food here. It is murder on the waistline, isn't it?

I'm glad you're here! I hope that you find it as helpful as I have for the past six months and counting. It sounds like you've already gotten a good start, which is excellent!
  • Hello! Welcome to the forum! Hope you enjoy it here! I used to hate exercise, so I know how you feel. Let me tell you, once you get into it, you will start liking it. Get a gym membership, you can usually find gyms that have cheap memberships, about $25-$30 a month. I found that when you have a gym partner to encourage you, it's easier. You can do it hon!
  • Hello and welcome to the forum.
  • Way to go on your 20 Lbs loss!! Great start!! Good luck with your continue efforts!!
