Default Motivation I needed...

I hate to say that I want to lose weight for someone else but someone else is going to be my kick in the butt. I was always the chubby kid then I grew up and shed some of the "baby" weight. I was by no means a thing or in shape teenager but I was comfortable in my own body ranging between sizes 10's & 14's but I always loved my big butt. Well, in the last few years I've blown up...I moved, didn't know anyone. My diet changed completely. I'm up to a 24-26 right now. For the last year I've been dating someone who I always thought was far too good looking for me but he made me feel beautiful. Within the last couple of weeks we've been having issues and he's decided to end it. My weight loss isn't something to get him back or to find someone else. I was just able to ignore how I felt about myself and channel all of my energy into loving him. & now I want to love myself, the way I used to. My confidence and outgoingness is nowhere near the level it was. & I know I can't do this alone.

Hey there. I'm new too, but I know a lot about needing to love myself. That's why I'm here & wanting to lose weight. I'm sort of your inverse (a guy I like asked me out a few months ago and I said no due to crappy self esteem).

I think the major thing is *wanting* to fix that. Identify your good points. We all have them. Maybe yours is how completely you love others. Maybe you've got fantastic hair or eyes or perfect skin tone or you're the nicest person on the planet. I think mine is my sense of humor. Whatever it is, work it. And take pride in it.

No one dates someone for a year without thinking that they're amazing. So I'm pretty sure that you are, at whatever weight.

Thank you, ladies.

I have all of my old pants, too. They probably won't even be in style by the time I can wear them but I refuse to let go. haha
