Excited to get started!

  • Hi everyone,
I'm 24 5'3 when I stand up really straight and currently I'm stuck at a very unflattering 209lbs. I've always been a little heavy but usually staid around the 180 mark until I went back to work after having my second bundle of joy in 2009. Seems like over night I shot past 200 and haven't been able to get below it since. I started going to the gym in jan(2011) and have been going 3-5 times a week since I watch my food intake and just recently started subbing one meal a day with either a slimfast high protien shake or a Right size smoothie (expensive but totally yummy). I've been getting very discouraged because then scale is going up instead of down and I'm not osing any inches either I do feel stronger but that's it. I do 30-45 minutes of cardio 4-5 days a week and I do strength training 3-4 days a week. I'm hoping one day soon I'll have a breakthrough and start losing but I guess for now I'm here because I'm in need of some encouragement. So thanks!
  • Sounds like you are doing the right things and I wish I had a answer as to why the scale is not moving in the right direction.
How many calories are you eating a day, including the meal replacements?
I try to keep mine between 1300-1400 calories per day and I work out three times a week. Cardio and weight lifiting. My weight loss has been all over the place, some weeks 1lb down, or 1lb up or 2 down.
If you are keeping your calories in check and exercising, I might see your doctor just to see if there is something medically going on.
    Best of luck to you.
