Smile Hi Everyone...new to this site, just wanted to introduce myself!!

My name is Wendy and I live in Wisconsin. I have struggled with my weight for about 20 years now...3 children and one husband later

I currently weigh 200 lbs on a 5'3" body. I have lost 12 lbs so far on a low carb diet and am hoping to get down to 125-130 lbs. I don't have a specific timeframe in which to lose. I figure slowly but surely is the best route.

I am really looking forward to participating in this forum! Thanks!

Welcome Wendy! Congrats on a great start!!

I started on a low-carb (and low calorie) diet too and it really works for me. How many grams of carbs are you eating a day? I think the best thing low carb did for me was lower my cravings for sugar and pasta. It was a real hurdle detoxing but I never looked back. I know you will find the same success!!

This message board is wonderful and I hope you find a lot of inspiration on here.

I am actually eating less than 20 carbs a day. I started out fine, but stalled about two weeks into it. I was at the same weight for over two weeks (I actually thought my scale was broken!). But then I started reducing the amount of carbs to between 10-15 and have started losing again...very slowly, about 1 lb a week (which I am totally okay with).

Its been 5 weeks now and I haven't had any significant cravings so far, I actually enjoy this regime. I really haven't missed anything...but its still early :-)

Thanks for your support!

mrs jazzy!

Congratulations on your 30lb loss! It sounds like you are doing all the right things (diet and exercise). I truely believe that's the ony way to make your weight loss permanent.

I haven't started an exercise program yet, but that is something I really need to get serious about.

Good luck with everything!!

Wendy

Aww, thanks hun. It was 144.8 this morning so I am close to the cusp but I'll still take it!

And of course my first thought was how I was going to reward myself and my mind always goes to food. But I decided on a pedicure instead.
