Default I'm new-Hi!

Hello,

Im a female in my late 20's. 5 years ago I was in the best shape of my life, today, I weigh 315lbs. Im 5 foot 5 inches tall. My weight will and is killing me. Im going to be completely honest as to the reason I decided to join- I need the anonymity. I am very ashamed of my weight and my body. I used to have so much self confidence and I still present myself with that same confidence, however, its a facade. I hate who I am and what I've become. Here and on the internet in general, I can hide who I am while sharing how I feel and thats very important to me.

It makes me very angry that I am a fat girl. Im mad that I cant eat whatever I want in moderation and not have to work out 5 days a week to keep the pounds off. I am willing to admit that I am lazy. I am also willing to admit that I LOVE cheeseburgers and french fries and chocolate cake among a million other things I cant eat if I want to stop being a fatty. No, I dont prefer salad over pizza. And I do believe some things taste better than how being skinny makes you feel! However, all that being said, I know that now that I've ballooned over 300 pounds, I must do something, for my health. One can only ignore things for so long and if I dont do it now, Im not sure when I will be given the chance again.

I need to give and receive support, positivity and inspration and that is truly what has brought me here. I hope to make some friends, get some help and help others.

Thanks for reading.

WOW! I joined today too and I TOTALLY get what your saying about needing anonymity. I just started my blog and I struggled with not wanting to put my real name on there... I ended up just signing off as the title of my blog (manna) for now.. Everything you said, I mean EVERYTHING... hit home with me. I do the same thing, the facade.. the false confidence etc. it feels horrible.
I was a cheerleader, track team captain etc. and now here I sit at 320 pounds (That's down 16 pounds). It's humiliating. I'm on my way though and things are going well! I dont know if this site will help I posted like 500 things today and have gotten no response, then again, it's only been ONE day ;p I'm trying hard to reach out to other women, but it's tough. When I read your post I was *so* happy because I can TOTALLY relate to your feelings! I would love to encourage you! I can't put a link up to my blog because I'm 'too new' I guess you have to be a member for 20 days or something before you can put up links. You may be able to see it on my avatar, but it's pretty small. Anyway, congrats on STARTING! You're here and you're on your way! Write me anytime! xo

Welcome! I prefer this site to actually going out to meetings and stuff too because I think being too public would make me feel even worse about myself. You picked a great site to come to though! I know exactly what you mean how some things do taste better than skinny feels. I wish you luck and all the support in the world ^_^

I'm new, too! Good luck to you and good luck to me! I'm also pretty lazy and I should have probably mentioned that in my post, too. xD I hope we can both find ways to work around it.

Thanks everyone! You have no idea how good it feels to know other people feel the same way.

Manna: I also have a blog I can't post the link either. But I would love to follow yours and give you the link to mine. Can you PM me your blog link?

If anyone else blogs about their weight loss journey I would like to follow. Just reading others stories and day to day struggles some how makes me feel less alone. Thanks again everyone!

it's my 1st day here as well I know it's so frustrating, I seem to eat healthier and exercise more than most people around me who are all in better shape! I joined Slimming World 5 weeks ago and have lost 5lbs but I haven't been following it properly the past fornight and I am afraid of completely giving up which is why I joined this forum for support.

May I make a few suggestions? You could try making healthier versions of chips and pizzas etc. Also use fry light (a low calorie cooking spray, it's only 1 calorie per spray) instead of oil or butter and try to make small changes such as semi- skimmed milk instead of full fat and wholemeal breads instead of white (if you don't already do this). I believe the small changes are the ones you will stick to and they will make a difference.

Try making your own chips- peel and cut potaotes into chips, boil them in water until tender. Then spray a baking tray with fry light and put in the oven for 20 mins. I've had these and think they are quite nice and if you like add a little ketchup or vinegar or salt etc.

Also try using extra lean mince- I think it tastes just as good as normal mince- you could use it to make your own burgers e.g chop up an onion, mix it in with the mince and then grill it. Another thing you could try is to fill 1/3 of your plate with fruit or veg at every meal time. I love junk food but I also love the healthy versions too- it may take a few times to get used to it but I'm sure you will like them too

Sorry for long post, hope it was of some help. Goodluck and remember, a journey of 1000 miles starts with a single step
