Hey Everybody

  • Hey everyone,

I'm new to the forum and I'm 21, 5 ft 1 and overweight. I recently started another diet, although this time I'm keeping a food diary to monitor my calories and I've taken up running.

I'm basically just annoyed with all the conflicting advice on the internet regarding healthy weight loss tips, (I want to lose weight for good without negatively affecting my metabolism!) so I'm looking for advice from real people going through the same stuff as me.
  • I am only one inch taller than you and have battled weight all my life. This time I am trying to focus more on a healthier lifestyle and dieting. I am counting calories, trying to keep them between 1300-1400 per day. I am also trying to exercise at least 3 times a week.
I think the most important thing is to find something that works for you and a program that you can maintain long term.
    Best of luck!
  • Thank you so much.

That's great to hear, it sounds like we're doing similar things then and it sounds like you're doing an amazing job. We can do this!

I took out up running about two and a half months ago and I'm actually starting to enjoy it. It has only been a week that I've been monitoring calories but I keep reading all this rubbish on the internet about what foods to eat and everybody seems to have a different opinion. It honestly gets so confusing.
