Newbie here!

  • Hi everyone! My name is Katy and I've been browsing around the site for awhile but finally decided to make an account! Let's see...I'm 21, I graduate in June with my BSN and will become an RN. School has been my life and I've gained a couple more pounds than I would have liked to! So lately I have started running. I've been running at the gym on the treadmill M-F for the past couple weeks. I usually do HIIT (which is SO hard to do on a treadmill by the way ) for about 10-12 minutes for cardio/lung health.

    Recently I've been wanting to learn how to train for a 5k and my goal is to lose about 15 pounds. I started a medication a couple weeks ago and gained about 7 pounds from it I just don't know where to start!! I know I am going to love being a member of the site and I hope to learn so much!

    Since you're relatively close to your goal, you might want to check out our Featherweights forum...it's specifically for people who are starting pretty close to goal. We also have a great 20-somethings forum, for those in your age range.

    Do you have a specific eating plan? Exercise is great, but usually, weight loss takes a combination of both eating and exercise. We have a lot of subforums by plan, to, so do some exploring.
