Starting Anew

  • Hello, all. Thought I'd start with a quick intro.

After maxing out my doctor's scale (over 350) in 2003, I had a Duodenal Switch that December and lost 163 pounds over the next couple of years. I've regained about 20 pounds but am still much healthier and happier than before (I'm 6'0", so the weight is well distributed ). I could stay the same or lose more and be equally happy with myself.

Husband is still quite heavy and has 150 pounds of his own to lose. We aren't insured, so surgery isn't an option for him right now. We've begun eating healthier and are sticking with Volumetrics-style meal choices. I'm doing it with him primarily to support him, but wouldn't be disappointed to lose a bit, too.

Glad to find a busy and supportive forum such as this, and look forward to contributing where I can.
  • Welcome and good luck!
