First off, I am SO happy to have found this site and the inspring stories I've read!

My name is Kimberly and I am a 45 y.o. mom of 3, ages 18, 13 and 10. I presently weigh 163 and am the heaviest I have ever been - even at 9 months pregnant. Prior to the past few years, I have always been comfortably in the 125-130 pound range. Recently I saw photos of myself that were taken and it really hit home that I need to make some changes NOW - so here I am. I will be joining the gym tomorrow - and am planning to start the Couch to 5k plan - to run my first 5k in May.

I know I will rely heavily on the support I find on this forum - and look forward to making this journey with you all!

Kimberly - Hi there!

We have several forums you might want to look at. First, we have a support thread for people doing the C 2 5k in the Exercise forum. Second, we have groups by age range, and you might look at the 40-somethings for support from others near your age. And you also might want to look at the Featherweights, for those starting relatively close to their goal weights. Any or all would be wonderful places to jump in.

There are a ton of people here ready to give you support, so jump on in, get to posting, and keep going. Can't wait to get to know you better!

Thank you so much for the tips! I have found the Featherweight and 40-something threads - but didn't know about the Couch to 5k one - which I will check out this morning!
