S/C/G: I don't care about my weight.

Height: 5'7"

Cool super young, super new, super motivated (somewhat?).

Hello!
My name is Kori, I'm 20 years old and from Connecticut.

I stumbled upon this web page after finally coming to terms with the fact that I am, in fact, a fast food addict (!). My body is absolutely addicted to sugar, fat, and salt, and I want to finally break the addiction.

My story starts as many of yours do, being overweight as a child; being fed mostly fast food because my mother couldn't cook, overeating when my father was around (barely) because he was the only one who would cook real food ((**real, fattening food))... Broken family, blahblah, escaping to my grandmother's on weekends where she would cook intense italian meals and give me everything I wanted to eat because she felt bad about my family situation (got to love grandmas ). As a teenager, the problem continued, overeating, overeating, overeating, smoking pot that causes overeating, generally not taking care of myself, etc. I actually had a breast reduction surgery at seventeen, going from a 36G to a 36C, but gained twenty pounds since then, bringing me to a 38D ... embarrassing... But NOW, I am twenty years old! I've got my shat together and I'm ready to finally break myself of this awful lifestyle.

My starting weight is 208lbs (JEEZ) and I'm five foot eight, I'm currently 204.6. I'm considering veganism, mostly because I just read the book "skinny *****" and it legit changed my life. I have never worked out regularly for longer than three months straight. I drink soda like it's water. My boyfriend is an enabler (I have to remind him to stop cooking me huge fried breakfasts!!), but he is looking to change his lifestyle also, though he's quite fit.

I'm currently in college, and I just quit my retail job that I had for longer than a year because of general lack-of-interest in selling consumers ugly overpriced sheets of paper. No quality! Also, my managers were absolutely insane. I'm a photography major, and I'm planning on doing photography as a career. I have a photography Tumblr blog if anyone is interested in checking some up-and-coming photography, and general life-ramblings.

I hope to be reading and contributing to your posts and getting to know everyone a bit better. <3<3<3 thank youuu!

I had a breast reduction when I was 17 as well, 46F to 46D. I gained a bunch of weight after it, but luckily my cup size didn't go back up! I'm almost 20 as well. Good job on your loss so far and welcome! Look forward to seeing you around. Come join us in the 20-somethings subforum if you haven't already.

I really think they just have a mind of their own completely separate from the rest of my body. They had me lose weight before they'd even consider the surgery, and a 15lb loss didn't make them go down at all. And now an almost 70lb loss hasn't really done much either. XD The band size went down a little, but the cup size doesn't want to budge.

maybe you would like try to one of the challenges?
the 5 pound challenge is a good one to start with. it's really simple. we post our starting wt,current wt, and goal wt(5 pounds down). then just update it each day. first one to lose 5 pounds wins and starts the next thread. getting lots of pats on the back right away. it's short, so it's fairly motivating. i've done it a few times. lasts about a week.
have a look around the chicks up for a challenge thread and other places on the forum. you might find something you are interested in joining longer term. or if contests aren't your thing. lots of places to post for accountability, or just get lots of support for our non scale victories and those bad days.

also, when you are feeling really motivated. write a letter to yourself or a list. talk about what it is. why are you motivated? why should you stay on plan? then when you are having one of those days (beware of aunt flo, that time of the month brings cravings) you can read it and get your mojo back. or at least be more aware of not doing your plan/binging or whatever it is. try to do anything you can that can prevent problems. plan ahead. have back up plans for food/exercise. ok that got a little long.

let's kick butt!

Welcome Kori!!! I hope you find this site a great help like so many of us have! I come from a food background a lot like yours, I was eating out nearly every day I could, I would have 3 junior bacon cheeseburgers, a large fry, and a chocolate shake three nights a week, Chinese on the weekend, and everything in between! Now that I've been on my weight loss plan, my body no longer accepts those kinds of overly sugary, overly salty foods, and my psyche takes a beating when I eat them too! I guess it's all about training up and getting better =) definitely try out the challenges around here, and maybe even start your own blog. Journaling can be quite a motivator!

Totally, I don't really eat THAT much at a time. but I do, however, eat out three times a day. Sometimes an Egg sandwich for breakfast, Chicken Go-Wrap or a Cheeseburger for lunch, Indian Take-Out for dinner. It's gross, especially because I want to be a vegan. Thanks for the support.
