Default My Official Hello ~

Well I've been floating around since September, posting here - and reading there. I figured now, I best introduce myself. I'm 26, overweight and over it. (If you know what I mean.) I haven't settled on any particular plan of attack. Right now, I really want to get back into exercise.

Back in the day I was a dancer. I still have that drive and ambition to drop it like it's hot. Only, I tend to lack in motivation. I plan on getting back to dancing, walking, jogging and running - and then boom! Epic fail.

I was doing really good in August & September. I was working out five days a week. Things snowballed in my life and I fell off the wagon.

What attracted me to 3FC is how real everyone seems to be. I mean, I know I'm not the only one in the world to struggle with weight, but coming here kind of solidifies that factor. I'm able to read through posts and threads and know that I relate or understand where some of you are coming through. I think that is a pretty cool thing. I have a handful of friends that battle the bulge as well, only they seem to be competitive and negative all in one. So the support concept just isn't working out for me there.

Anywho -- I'm quirky, silly, long winded and totally awesome. (Joking. Sort of.) But I'm open to making some new friends and supporters! You cheer me, I'll cheer you!

I'm loving this place. I'm stoked to be here.

Hey There!

I think one of the reasons this place is so darn special is that we are right there with you! We are all an ex "something" and are trying to find our way to good health and balance.

One thing I've learned about motivation- it's fleeting. Sometimes, I have NO motivation and I just have to pull out my running shoes... then I tie them... then I get my ipod... then I get in the car. 6 years later and I still need my "baby steps" . And I too have fallen off the wagon. Sometimes it's a minor glitch, other times it's more major. But I seem to find my way back, and so will you!

I hope you stick around! I've really enjoyed your posts so far

Hi Jyler, welcome.

I was the same as you, I had complete lack of motivation to do any exercise, the only exercise I got was walking to and from work everyday which in total came to about 25 minutes, but it wasn't quick walking, it was basically at a pace so I didn't break out into a sweat! Pointless.

To motivate myself, I joined a gym. I managed to get a corporate rate at a really nice gym where I am, they tend to lean more towards helping people get healthy instead of a place for body builders to go to show off their muscles! Even their weights only go up to so much so they don't get a crowd of people like that because they're passionate about what they want to do. It was such a good choice to make, my personal trainer is so nice, he makes no judgements and even when I didn't want to be weighed in front of him he understood. I go with a couple of friends and we all push each other to do it.

Maybe you can get some of your friends to start some form of exercise with you? I always find having someone else there boosts my motivation!

Hey Jyler I have fallen off the excercise wagon in the past too. Lately though it is just the occasional limb that falls out and slows me down. This site is great for weight loss support I was jazzed when I found it too.

Good Luck
