All right all you people on the road to a healthy body. I have pulled onto that road with you. I must admit that my knuckles are white, and I am a little nervous. I have a LONG.... L - O - N - G journey ahead of me. BUT this weight didn't come on over night so it won't come off any faster.
That being said, my name is Janet, and I am 28 years old. I have 2 kids (boy-7, and girl-3). I've been with my husband for over 9 years, and love how supportive he is.
He started his health kick a couple years ago and lost over 100 pounds in a year. I watched with envy as he busted his butt to get there. I tried to jump on that road then, too, but it was a feeble attempt. I start out with all the "want to" in the world, but after a couple weeks...a month if I'm lucky...I'm back to my old ways. The same ways that have got me where I am.
I will mention that I DID lose 20 pounds a year ago...and kept it off. However, with my height at 5'0", it isn't enough. I need to keep going.
I have 4 goals.
1. Be able to play with my kids outside for more than a few measly minutes. If I feel like I'm going to DIE afterwards, it better be because I have played my heart out and not because I chased my 3 year old for 5-10 minutes.
2. I want to shop in the stores in the mall. Not that I live in a big, fashion-forward city, but I want to be able to go to ANY store and buy off the rack. no specialty sizes, no "plus" section, or "image" sizes.
3. I want to live long enough to see my 75th wedding anniversary, and great great-grandchildren.
4. I want to put on a darn 2-piece bathing suit and know that I look GOOOOOOOOD.
Okay...sor here I am. This is me. I am so glad I found this forum and can't wait to get started on that road.
