Hello everyone! My name is Kris and I am brand new to this site and to the Ideal Protein Meal Plan. (day #1)
After struggling with my weight for years, I have gotten to the point where I just want to fit in the seats at the movie theatre, wear clothes that look and fit good and feel healthy again!
I had previously made the appointment to have the gastric bypass surgery this fall, when I saw this plan offered at my chiropractors office and figured "what do I have to lose" Well, after weighing in, it turns out I have over 100 lbs to lose!
So, here is to a New Year and new beginnings! I look forward to reading all the wonderful posts on here and meeting others in the same boat as myself!

Hi Guys! Tomorrow is my first day on the Ideal Protein program. I'm also on day one of quitting smoking. I'm looking forward to reading your posts and getting to know you.
Hi Kris!
Sounds like you're ready to get going with a great plan and a can-do attitude - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.
Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired - you'll be a great addition to any of them. There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans, like Ideal Protein to help get through the ups and downs.
There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.
I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.
So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!
Magbuild, I am happy to have someone on the journey who is beginning at the same time as myself! I have over 100 lbs to lose so am in this for the long haul but am very excited to start seeing results! I can actually visualize myself at my goal size! Makes the restrictions so much easier to deal with! lol!
Thank you for the welcome Midwife! I have been browsing the pages for the past week or two, and have been learning so much from this site! I am loving all the support and encouragement that I am seeing! This is awesome!
Hi Lee! Thank you for the warm welcome! I am so impressed with the amount of support, encouragement and information that is freely shared among the members! I, as well, have never really been a part of a forum-type group, so am looking forward to browsing through all the pages, groups and success stories!
p.s Heather - Good luck with quitting smoking. As a former 2.5 pack a day smoker, quitting can be a struggle, but stick with it! I guarantee it is well worth it!
So... I am almost done with day 1. It wasn't too bad but it did make me realize I have a major sugar addiction!!! Hope everyone had a great and successful day. I work the regular mon-fri 8 - 4:30 hours, I am hoping that will help me to keep distracted from food. I had the chocolate crepe for breakfast and the Blueberry, Cranberry & Pomegrante drink for lunch (I blended it with ice and it was very good!). I ate a ton of spinach today, I hope that is okay. I read that you can have unlimited greens. I'm supposed to have the Lemon pudding for my night snack but am wondering if I can skip it cuz I'm really not hungry. Does anyone know if that is okay?
Kris, hope you are trekking along. Keep me posted! As for the ciggs, not so good today.
