Really like your username, very clever. I'm a newbie too....well new to this site not to dieting, sadly. I've spent my twenties gaining and loosing the same 50lbs.
I'm 29 and a flight attendant. With a mexican coke addiction. (Love love the glass bottles, and swear it tastes better than regular coke). It's a love/hate relationship.
I also seem to be running into similar problem with the weight not coming of as fast as it used to. My doc actually told me that I might not be able to get back to what I was, so naturally I'm now determined to get even better than I was!!!!!
Sounds like your on the right track with the portion control and cutting back on the coke. I've found unsweetened iced tea/mixed with a dash of lemonade is a nice replacement for coke, so is seltzer. And I'm doing a 5 minute rule for exercise. I have to exercise 5 minutes a day, and so far so good.
