New to the site but not to the fight...

  • I swear I've been fighting food issues since I was a child. Can a person actually be born with a bad relationship with food? I feel like I was. I remember sneak-eating even as a little kid and I've *never* in my life had a natural ability to regulate portions properly. My weight has been up and my weight has been down but I've never really managed a long-lasting truce with the bad habits that stop me from keeping the weight off.

I'm tired of the struggle and I've reached an age where I'm seeking some INNER PEACE and BALANCE along with a trimmer and healthier body. My family history is littered with heart disease, diabetes, and cancer so I really need to eat for health as much as I do for aesthetics.

I was reading a book the other day that explained that giving and receiving support during weight-loss and maintenance is a key to long-term success. Well, I am definitely seeking long-term success and I want every advantage I can get because some days it is an epic battle just to get through the day without sticking junk food in my mouth.

I look forward to making friends who understand and to reaching my goal of long-term maintenance with the help of all the wonderful expert posters on this site.

I wish us all happy and healthy!
