Hello from the English side of Welsh borders UK. I hope I can get a bit of support because I am about as down and depressed as it is possible to be. I lost 5 stones (70lbs) on the Cambridge Diet, but when I came off it, put it all back on over 3 years and now, following the death of our daughter (we had been her carers for 32 years) I have eaten like a horse and am now at a massive 17st 12lbs (250lbs) I have got to grip with myself over the last 2 weeks and have managed to lose 5lbs. I'm walking more, having 3 meals a day, no convenience foods and making myself sit down and enjoy food. I make myself chew it well and take it slowly.
I hope I meet others like myself on here
welcome and well done with your weight loss so far!.. if u need any support or a friend to talk to.. im here im looking for new friends and weight loss buddies x
im also really sorry to hear about your daughter xx
Welcome and I'm sure you'll get the support that you need here. Good luck with your weight loss goals.
Some tips - Include healthy snacks in between your meals to keep you full (fruit, nuts, and fat free yogurt are great). And do some light weight training with your walking to boost your metabolism and to burn calories even when you are not exercising.
Thank you to everyone for the welcome it is much appreciated. I feel better already after reading success stories and also, all the support you give each other.
Hubby and I have had a rough trot, but I feel better than I have done for months now I have one foot on the journey back to the old me.
I can't even imagine how hard that is. I just don't even know that I could ever understand and bravo for starting to care for yourself again. My heart goes out to you and I wish nothing but the best.
Welcome to the site! Congratulations on losing your first 5 lbs! That's a great accomplishment & it is admirable that you have chosen to turn your life around! =)
I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. Sometimes losses can be great motivators to live a full & healthy life! We're here to encourage you! =) Good luck with your goals!
It might also be a good idea to eat smaller meals throughout the day to keep yourself from getting hungry & keep your metabolism going. Maybe 5-6 mini-meals a day. (Just a suggestion, of course!) =)
