My name is Bluey and i am a diet virgin - this is my first time dieting, and i am getting sick of the "well you will fail.... people always fail their first time"... Im doing Cohens and today is my first day.
My weight is 129kgs - a far cry from the day i found out i was pregnant with my first child (a wonderful - if a tad too skinny 52kgs).
The Cohen's people said i should aim for 53-59kgs ... i want to go around 65-75kgs...
Anyone done Cohens? Any advice? I ate my yoghurt and am full - i tend to eat only once a day - if that - so not sure about this all day thing, oh well we will see.
My REAL reason for dieting?? not the "everyone" else hears... well there are two - but the "other" reason first..
"Her majesty (my mother) has deemed i am too lose weight for her wedding" - this is what everyone hears.
My real reason? My mother is terminally sick and would like to see me lose weight before she dies. I am also sick to death of hearing " oh if you just lost weight you would be so pretty" ....
Anyway, there ya go, ya'll know more about me than some of my closest friends.
Welcome. Since Chicks can be overwhelming at first, I suggest you look for a support group or challenge to join; a small group of friends to help keep you motivated. Find one you like that fits your needs, or inspires you, and just post to join.
Welcome. I don't know what Cohen's is either but just wanted to say that our stats were very similar. I'm the same height as you and I think I was around 130kg when I started and weigh about 75kg now - so know that it is possible. I reached my goal in September last year and have been maintaining since.
Sorry to hear that your Mum has a terminal illness.
For those that don't know, Cohen's is a blood test based diet. "Apparently" It works very well, will see, at the moment the amount of food i have to eat is making me sick... TOO MUCH FOOD... oy vey, anyways will see.
BTW: Hi Kitty - I grew up in South Yorkshire in Rawmarsh, Rotherham
Im actually from australia, but moved back here in 1994 (was only there living from 1987 - but until then yearly 2-3 month holidays ). Went to school over there. My dad was born and raised Rawmarsh until 1974 when he went to Australia, and my uncle still lives there, cousins in Sheffield now, but lot of friends other misc. family still in Rotherham area.
Hi Bluey, I know your post is a couple of years old but just wondering how you went on cohens, I've done it before and starting again now, 6 years later, if you have any questions let me know.
