Hi!

  • Hello! My name is Shaunna, I'm 23, I'm currently a stay at home mom and a full time Nursing student. I never had a weight problem until after I had my first son, then I gained weight like crazy and have been over weight for about 5 years now, luckily I didn't gain any more after my second son last year! I've always wanted to get back to my "normal" size but up until now I never really actively tried to do anything about it.
I keep reading about all these different diets and things but I think I am just going to start out counting calories (loosely... I suck at keeping track of things!) and cutting out the junk and sodas (I'm totally addicted) and trying my best to be more active every day.
  • Hi Shaunna! Counting calories gets easier the longer you do it.
  • Hi, I'm new here too : ) I have two little boys also. Ive always been an unhealthier dieter, but I'm going to be looking at counting calories as well. : ) Good luck : )
  • Good luck.
  • Hi and Welcome to the group.
There's lots of support here! Good luck!
  • Hi Shaunna and welcome to 3FC.

I am a calorie counter and I keep track of my calories and even exercise at sparkpeople.com for free

    Good luck with your goals.

    Hugs
    Michelle
  • Thank you everyone!
  • Welcome Shaunna

You know until you just said it I have never thought about getting down to my long ago pre-pregnancy weight of 128. Wow, wouldn't that be a shocker to my family and friends. Something to think about once I reach 150

For me it wasn't as hard as I thought it would to cut out the junk food, fried foods and the sodas. I read on a thread, why waste my daily calories on things that are gonna keep me from reaching my goals ... and I said to myself I can do this So far so good.

This is so true. When I first started it drove me crazy, and I am only on day 8. (I have counted calories before) but didn't find out until recently about finding my actual calorie needs, for my age and weight. I also didn't know until 3FC that I was supposed to also pay attention to the amount of sodium as well as the fat. I am determined to stay on point this time around of course with the help of 3FC I made it through my first weekend which was tough. Ok I'm a chatter box, I'm done

Best of luck to us in our journeys.
