Workin on losin the baby weight...plus some!
Hello everyone! I'm really glad I found this site. I think it's awesome that so many people are getting together to share their stories and tips. I find it a huge inspiration to read others stories and I hope one day mine will inspire someone. So here it goes:
I have been big pretty much my whole life. It started in about the third grade. Up until then I was pretty thin. I remember wearing a size 12 in 6th grade. The numbers kept climbing, each year I would wear a bigger size. I don't think it really hit me until I was starting high school. At a size sixteen, I thought dang...I'm fat. Then begins the years of trying to lose weight, in which I would end up gaining more. I didn't really understand what healthy eating was, I envied those who ate like crazy and stayed super thin. I would lose 10-20lbs, fall off my "diet" and gain it and more back. By age 16, I weight in at over 200lbs. My highest weight was 217 around junior year. That's when I got a job at a fast food restaurant, which you would think would make me gain more, but I actually lost with out even trying. I guess it was because I was actually out of the house, doing something, instead of sitting at home eating every evening after school. I made some older friends there and started running around and partying. I dropped over 40lbs. I weight around 170 when I met my current BF. After graduating high school, I got a job at a hospital working night shift which caused a few extra pounds to rack up, but nothing very noticeable. Shortly after..I got pregnant. At my first doctors appointment, around 12 weeks along (I was in denial about being pregnant, I was only 18 and hadn't been with my boyfriend very long), I weighed 192. When I delivered my daughter, I weighed a whopping 237. By the time she was four months old, I had lost 37lbs. I was doing good, until I got pregnant again (on birth control and breastfeeding to beat it all!!!!) I gained 55lbs with this pregnancy, putting me at 255, my highest weight ever! After he was born, the weight came off pretty steadily until I had an IUD inserted. I weighted 219 on the insertion appointment, and stayed at that for months after it was put in, regardless of what I ate. They told me my body would eventually adjust, which it has. I lost down to 212 8 months after the IUD, at which point I went and got on adipex (phentermine). Since then I am proud to say that I am down to 194, although I really don't notice much difference. It's good to see the numbers on the scale changing though! My first goal is to be my PRE-pregnancy weight (175), then lose an additional 35lbs or so, to put me at 140?. Depending on how I look I may go lower or higher, I'm just going to lose til' I'm happy!
