Hello my name is Melinda I am from Ohio.. A couple of weeks ago hubby tells me his pants are getting tight and he needs to diet. Being the nice wife I am I will do it with him not cause I really need to but because thats what couples do.. well this past Sunday I stepped on a scale and it became more then just support for the hubby. I am 270 pounds In my mind I am still 160 .. when I look in the mirror I dont see a fat chick .. But the facts are the facts I need to slim down .. So here I am first weigh in comes sunday morning. Between quiting smoking 54 days ago and now trying to lose weight I might just lose my mind

Hi Melinda, congrats on quitting smoking! that's a big and not an easy one
I have sort of the same problem, not seeing myself as big as I am, until I saw a photo someone took of me while I was distracted (so I couldn't suck my stomach or give it my best "angle", hehehe) and OMG, it was awful!
But anyway, welcome and let's do our best!!

Sassy Ohio, WELCOME! I am also from Ohio(just north of Dayton). I started in Jan at 270. I am down 50 lbs. I know you won't believe this just yet. BUT if I can do it you can! Someone told me this 50 lbs. ago and I rolled my eyes and said yeah right. The hardest part is the beginning! One day at a time.

Thank you everyone for the positive support .. Quiting smoking has been tuff and I did it cold turkey .... Now on to different battles and I have already won one this morning I didnt stop at Mcdonalds after I took hubby to work
