Default Looking for support and ideas

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the whole weight-loss forum thing and, as a guy, feel kind of weird joining a message board with 'chicks' in the title. So be it.

My story: grew up really overweight, was about 280 until my last year of school, now am about 6'2", 225. I'm in my early 30s now. I usually run quite a bit for exercise but am entirely aware that food intake trumps activity output any and every day of the week. I've been as low as 193 and as high as around 235 within the last few years. I am usually around 220, but right now am trying to find my way down to 205/210.

I think my main reason for joining is that I need a little bit of community support in order to keep on track, and I also know my problem areas (i.e. dangerous situations/times for overeating), but not necessarily what to do about them. Hopefully there are some good ideas in here.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Hey! I don't know about the other girls, but I personally kind of like it when guys join the board...I love the different perspective and sometimes I think it just evens things out a little. Also, it's a nice reminder that women aren't the only ones struggling with weight issues.

So, with that said, I'm glad you joined and I'm sure you'll find all the other girls to be just as welcoming. This site is full of really helpful information and very supportive people from all walks of life and different backgrounds.

I can't wait to get to know you too and I hope you'll ask lots of questions and participate in all the conversations! Good luck, I look forward to hearing about all your success in the very near future!

Hey! I'm new to the whole weight loss forum too, but so far it's been great just to know that there are soo many people out there that are going through the same thing and hear their stories! Good luck to you! I'd suggest that anytime you have those overeating times just hop on here and come out with it, its nice to be able to be totally honest gets it off your chest and you'll get comments back that will motivate you!

Hi......I'm pretty new to this too! I did get in on a Weigh-In for May where we record our weight each day. I think it's helped me stay focused! Good Luck! There is lots of good info!
