Hi everyone!

  • My name is Monica, but feel free to call me Moe! I am from California and LOVE taking my kids to the beach. I am 26, married, and have two wonderful kids.

    I have always been the "skinny" one in my group of friends. In high school my Dr. made me take supplements to "bulk up" because my metabolism was on hyper drive and I couldn't gain weight. Fast forward ten years I don't know where it's gone! I am weighing in at 130lbs., which doesn't sound high, but put it in the context of I only weighed 126lbs at 9 months pregnant with my first, then you see the extra weight. I was 115 when I got pregnant with my second, and would like to get back down to 115, but if all goes well I want to get down to 110 lbs.

    I started the South Beach Diet on Monday and have already seen some weight loss. My husband who has never mentioned my weight, got excited about my interest in losing some pounds and is doing the diet with me. He is 210 lbs. and would like to get down to 200-190 lbs.

  • Hi Moe, and welcome! :-) Always nice to see another Californian! I miss the Central Coast -- I graduated from Cal Poly and spent a lot of summer vacations in Avila, Los Osos, and Morro Bay when I was kid. Great place! Although it's warmer on the beaches down here at the south end of the state. LOL Good luck with your plan and reaching your goal. You'll be there before you know it!
  • Hi Moe, I started the south beach diet 11 days ago and have already lost 10 pounds and have 20 more to go. I am also 5'2 and was heavier when I started the diet then when I was full term with my fourth baby. Good luck with your weight loss and I hope you acheave your goal of 110-115.
