Unhappy Hello - I'm new here and need support

I'm a 42 year old single Mom of 2. I knew my weight had been slowly creeping up over the last year and a half. Went to the doctor this morning and was SHOCKED that I weighed 150 pounds At only 5'3" that's the heaviest I've ever been, even when I delivered my two children. Before I got pregnant for the first time, I weighed 100 pounds - don't want to get to that again, but would settle for 120. (I was steady at around 130 for a long time after my kids were born, and have gained 20# in last year and a half).

So, while I'm sad, I'm also super motivated. My ex-husband is very overweight, and my daughter (9) definitely has a tendency torwards chubbiness, so I want to model healthy eating an exercise for her.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you!!

Our stats are so similar! I was also shocked to hit 150 - pregnancy was the only other time I got that heavy - I am usually at about 125. The weight is coming off extremely slowly despite hard dieting and a lot of exercise, but it is better than gaining more. Post a lot - it helps tremendously. Find an eating plan that works for you, and the same with exercise.

Looking forward to seeig more posts from you!

kitty, forgot to comment on your age - I will be 42 on Easter and have also gained all my weight in the last 2 years. I've found it much harder to take off than before - I had struggled with an extra 10 lbs on and off, but nothing like this before. Be open to trying different things and switching it up.
