Hi there, new girl here. Just starting a 12 week program at a local gym with a personal trainer and nutrition consults.
Feeling a little discouraged at the start of week 3 - tonight I came home with jelly-legs and arms and soreness where I never knew I could be sore!
Hoping to learn lots of great things from this site and excited to have somewhere to ask questions!

Sounds like your trainer is working you hard. Don't be afraid to push back if the pain/soreness is killing your motivation. I've found that there is a fine line for me between intensity and overkill to the point of super soreness. If I cross it I have a hard time coming back.
Glad to hear you are working on nutrition too, that's a much bigger part of weight loss than the exercise (although I find the exercise to pay bigger benefits in how I feel/energy/etc).
There are lots of good people, forums, information, and advice here.
First piece of advice, listen to lots of advice and don't take any of it as law. Although any posters with a thread in the "Goal" forum are pretty worth listening too. There are some very basic principles to weight loss, but how you get there is very individual, and different things work for different people. Fortunately the collective wisdom of this site has tried just about everything so there's lots of good experience to glean.
Own your decisions, move on quickly after failure, be patient, and stay accountable.
