    Newbie in town, looking to shed weight, pick up some tips and tricks and finally stop hearing the dreadful.. Oh she's pretty for a big GIRL.. Crap

    Looking forward to helping others, and receiving the same. Each one for all of us, right?

    Diet plain, whatever can be sustain as a lifestyle. I'm not looking for a quick 3o lbs in 10 days reggie.. I know that will never work. Maybe a little low-carb, will see.
  • Hello and Welcome! If you are looking to change your lifestyle and keep the weight off I suggest eating clean! I have lost 30lbs since I have started and have some more to go but I feel great have lots of energy and do not feel deprived! The best part is no more yoyoing for me! It really is simple and effective! Good luck to ya!

    This site has a huge number of advantages. There are forums and threads for almost any diet plan imaginable....where people who are actually doing that plan in real time can advise and support you.....and also trouble-shoot for you if you run into problems or stalls. Due to so many members, you will be able to find someone who has experienced whatever quirky problem you might encounter with a particular plan....the sorts of problems only a small percentage of those on that plan will encounter. That's one of the main things message boards are great for....you can find info that's not in the books.

    It's available 24/7 and there is someone here, no matter what time it is. There is a massive membership here so you can get literally tons of support. And there's anything and everything for everyone.

    And if you come regularly, you can be accountable...which has been a HUGE help for me and can also be inspired regularly by reading the success stories.....and cheered up by others having your same problems when you're feeling in a negative mood or feeling discouraged.

    Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired. Try the weight loss support forums, they're active and very helpful - also the Success stories are a definite must for motivation.

    There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

    I've only been here since last fall, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.
