Default It's for real this time

How many times have I dieted? A thousand, and I'm only 22! A few things changed in 2009 to make me change my lifestyle in 2010.

I went to the doctor in November and she informed me that I've gained 40 lbs since the last time I saw her! Well, I fell in love and had entirely different cravings. I also stopped being vegetarian which made me gain some weight.

On Christmas Eve, my boyfriend proposed! We are getting married on October 23 and I want to feel as good as beautiful and as comfortable with myself as I deserve to.

I've joined a gym, I've returned to my vegetarian lifestyle and I've joined this forum!

So, I'm Jess and I'm excited to meet other lovely girls in my boat!

Welcome, Jess, and congratulations on your upcoming marriage! I'm so happy you are taking this chance to start not on yet another diet (which we all know never works) but a lifestyle change of eating and exercising in a way that helps you be happier and healthier.

I'm a newbie too, and have found these boards to be tremendously helpful!

I eat a lot of beans and tofu. Although I've joined the gym (yesterday), I haven't gone yet. Tomorrow will be my first day. Any tips?

Welcome and congratulations!

My tip for the gym: Stretch before and after, and KNOW YOUR LIMITS. You want to push yourself, but don't push too hard. The stretching will keep you from getting sore and also boost your metabolism.

Hi Jess!
Congrats on your engagement and upcoming wedding, how exciting - I know you'll be successful in your goal of a healthier you and an even more fabulous bride - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on..

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired. Try the 20 somethings, the weight loss support forums, they're active and very helpful - also the Success stories are a definite must for motivation.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here since last fall, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
Lee
