Talking I'm ready to kick some butt!!

Hi everyone! I've got quite a bit of weight to lose but I refuse to get on a scale just yet so I can't put a number down. I definitely have over 100 pounds to lose though - maybe a lot more but once I start dropping clothing sizes then I'll face the scale.

I've struggled with my weight all my life - even as a child I was chubbier than my friends but always very active and involved in sports and that probably kept my weight down. But unhealthy dieting habits (fasting, bingeing, even purging when desperate) has brought on the pounds like never before and I am wearing the biggest size I have ever worn - 24 pant size, sometimes 26 depending on the cut.

I just turned 30 this year and I don't want to live my life feeling miserable and unhealthy. So I just purchased the 30 day shred and some weights and I've been tracking every calorie eaten since Jan 1 and I plan to continue to track them the entire year.

Didn't mean to make this so long but I know I'll be using this board a lot and I'll be here to motivate others and will need your motivation too so I can get SKINNY IN 2010!

Hi SKINNY in 2010!
I know the feeling, I started at an unknown weight as well, just losing the weight as I go along so as not to get overwhlemed with the big (pun intended) picture - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired - you'll be a wonderful addition to any of them. There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help get through the ups and downs. Try the 100 club, the 30 somethings or any others that catch your eye - the Success Stories are a must!

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
Lee

It sounds like we have very much in common. I too have about a 100lbs to lose. I was very active in school, and when I met my husband 5 years ago...I gained, and gained, and ate, and I work in an office job where I sit at a desk for 8 hours a day. That = HUGE WEIGHT GAIN!!!

I am on myfitnesspal.com which helps me track my calories, and I too am doing the 30 day shred. It kicks my butt, but I have so much energy after doing it.

Welcome to the 3FC, it is such a great website. Check out some of the before & after photos for some motivation.

Good luck in your weight loss journey, you can do it...we all can!
