Hi all! I'm Misty and ... well ... I'm fat. Whew! I'm glad I got that out of the way.

Unlike a lot of people I am not here because I am uncomfortable with my current weight, who I am or the choices I have made in my life that have landed me here. Actually it's the opposite. I am extremely comfortable in my skin and for the time being at least, pretty healthy. For that I am thankful.

So, you might wonder why I am here. One, I like company when I embark on new projects. They become easier and much more fun. Secondly and much more importantly, I love my husband. I can hear you now... WHAT!!... yeah yeah this is supposed to be all for me.

My new wonderful, amazing, fabulous husband has CMT. For the first time in my life I am truly worried about the fact that my weight could cause me avoidable health issues that could make me unable to care for him as his disability progresses. I was recently in a recreation accident that crushed my hand and because this has left me slightly less able to help him with some things, I do not need further health issues to make it impossible.

I hope I have found the right place and hope to get to know you all.

Hi Misty!
Here's to a healthier life for both you and your wonderful hubby - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired - you'll be a wonderful addition to any of them gving support and invaluable insight to others that face various challenges.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

I think that's great that you can be comfortable in your own skin & be happy & confident.
I am miserable in my body...happy with my life but know I'm not as healthy as I need to be. I get worn out easy, and can't do the things I used to be able to do.

I wish you the best in your journey towards health & being able to care for your husband.
