Default Time to Get Serious

Hi, I'm Tori and it's time for me to get down to business. I started out as overweight, but after two kids, it's definetly time to get serious. I've got my Wii fit at home and the membership to the Y if I wanna work out with the kids, but sometimes I need a little motivation. Plus help with my biggest downfall, chocolate... Wish me luck.

Hi ToriLeigh!
Sounds like you're ready to get going with a good plan and a can-do attitude - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on (and try to keep you away from chocolate).

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired - you'll be a wonderful addition to any of them. There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help get through the ups and downs.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
Lee

Hi Tori, I'm just getting down to business myself, and I signed onto a January challenge for 10 pounds--makes me feel committed!

Chocolate...hmmm. If there are Reeses nearby, or Twix or the like, I am in trouble, but I rarely see those, and won't buy them, so it isn't much of a problem. I love chocolate too, but have been able to wean myself down to a healthy relationship with it. I try to limit myself to dark chocolate only. GOOD, high-end dark chocolate is amazing. It is not as addictive to the sweet tooth, but is far more satisfying with far less volume. Then, you also get the added benefit of dark chocolate being good for you. Suddenly chocolate is your friend and not your enemy!

Make a commitment for January--whether exercise, less chocolate, or losing a few pounds--and we'll commit to helping you keep motivated! Wahoo.
