Default Happy New Year - Happy New Me

Hello Everyone!

So glad to have found this site. I am doing something similar to medifast, and I am on week 1. IT is difficult; probably the hardest thing I have ever done. I have found I am addicted to food - and everyday I have to make a conscious decision of what goes in my mouth.

I, like many of you, have struggled with weight loss my entire life, since I was a child. This past year I have been up and down, my highest 270. I am committed to get this weight off for the long haul and make a lifestyle change.

I am currently struggling making excersize a routine, so I'm looking forward to reading about everyone else's journey.

I have felt alone in this journey, and I am hoping this site will provide the much needed support I need, and hopefully, I can do the same for others.

Here's to the best the new year has to offer to all of us!!

There are some amazing stories on here! Let them be an inspiration to you!

I, too, struggle with exercise. I hate the thought! Last year I started and was doing great until I had surgery on my legs and have not attempted to exercise since.

You are not alone in this journey! Look around you. Our country is obese. I was devastated the day I realized I fell into the obese category! Unfortunately it didn't cause me to stop eating. I too am addicted! How do you control something your body needs. It is not like alcohol which you don't have to consume daily to survive.

Here is to a new year and a new beginning.

Hi AzimuthRing!
There are many here that certainly understand how you feel and have been (or are) where you are now - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired. There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help choose the right ones for you and get through the ups and downs.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
Lee
