Hello ladies, I don't know if I'm even supposed to be here (being a male and all) considering the name of the forum.
I apologize if I'm in the wrong place, but most of the weight-loss sites I've found for men seem mostly to focus on building large amounts of muscle mass, but I'd just be happy to be back down to the weight that I was at in High School when I was involved in sports.
If I'm not supposed to be here, and/or make anyone uncomfortable by my presence, I shall leave.
I look forward to interacting with all of you in the future!
Oh my gosh, we love having "roosters" around! There are several regular male posters. It cuts through the excess estrogen floating around. Welcome, Toby, glad you found us and feel free to post wherever the spirit moves you. Good luck with your goals - this place can really help get you there.
Hi Toby welcome! I don't think baby chicks are male or female (yet) Not quite sure how that works...the chicks and male and female thing...BUT this place is great either way! Keep coming back!
Yep, there are some of us males about. We have a male thread, but we don't post on it. You'll find us spread on most of the forums. The threads tend to be different - look around and find what fits your style.
Thank you all for your welcomes. I guess I'm not as alone in the maleness as I thought I might be. Yay!
Not diet as yet, since I am just starting out and do have some food allergies to things that are suggested under a few (such as cauliflower, broccoli and cabbage.)
Hi Toby!
You may be outnumbered but couldn't be more welcome - we like your kind around here! Sounds like you're off to a great start with determination and realistic goals -the support you need is here.
Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained! There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help choose the right ones for you and get through the ups and downs.
There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.
I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.
So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!
