Hi, Melanie, and welcome! I am glad you are joining us.

You say that if the Conquer the Fat Loss Code doesn't work for you will just have to accept the fact that you will be fat for the rest of your life. I think you should reconsider that approach. I am a big believer that, in order to successfully lose weight, you have to find what works for you and what you can live with for the long haul. Maybe the Conquer the Fat Loss Code plan will be the plan that works for you. Maybe it won't. If it doesn't work for you, I say try something else until you find what you can live with and then fully commit to it.

I wish you the very best in your weight loss journey. You can do it!

J

Hi princess...and welcome.

I also want to agree with the other poster here (jrmohr) and say that you absolutely should NOT just give up if this particular program does not work for you. In fact, I'm a big proponent of investing the time to try different programs in order to find the one that best works for you. If you read around here, you will clearly see that not only have a whole variety of different programs worked for different people but also that many have found amazing success.

I have been amazed myself....from reading extensively here....to learn that certain programs that did not work for me have worked so well for certain others. And also that the program that does work so well for me seems to not work for certain others....but that they have found alternate programs they've had success with.

There's just a ton of info here on a whole variety of different programs....and very worth doing some reading about them. Finding the right fit is, for me, finding the program that 1) will give you the best and most consistent results and 2) fits with your personal likes, dislikes, quirks, etc. For instance....my best fit is Atkins......and there are a whole list of reasons for this. The most important issue for ME is not being constantly hungry. However, I am also not a picky eater....and have no problem being restricted to only certain foods....as long as I'm not hungry most of the time.

Now...often, when I would lose an observable amount of weight....people would approach me and want to know how I did it. And to my surprise, there were always a significant number of those who would end up telling me that they absolutely could not use the program I was using (after I told them)....because they absolutely could not live without carbs...or they hated veggies...or they didn't like to eat protein...etc.etc.
But there would also be those who thought the program sounded like a good fit and a few would subsequently end up having great success with it.

And I remember years ago...the first time I lost a great deal of weight on Atkins...being amazed at some of the responses I got. I remember thinking, "you CAN'T live without bread?" or "you hate ALL veggies THAT much?". I wondered, "THOSE things would hold you back from losing weight on such a great program?" (I obviously thought it was great....and couldn't understand why everyone else didn't also ).

But that was me projecting my own traits/quirks.....and I learned that when it comes to weight-loss programs....different ones work for different individuals. I mean, for ME, trading off cookies for not being hungry seemed to be a no-brainer. But that's ME. For someone else...no cookies...or no bread...is a huge deal-breaker. They'd much rather trade some hunger for some cookies. But hey, if it works for them...that's great....right?

So....I am really hoping this program you are trying works great for you. But...if it doesn't...do NOT give up. Try to evaluate what it was about it that might have caused certain issues/problems for you. Spend some time figuring out and evaluating what things are deal-breakers and what ones you can live with for the long haul. And investigate all the different programs here and think over which ones might fit better for you. Finding the best fit is well worth it......as this program will be your buddy for a long time....so you want it to be the best one for you.

Don't just assume that if the first program doesn't work for you that it was YOUR fault.....and that you're doomed to not succeed. You may just need to find the program that is the best fit for you.

Hi Melanie!
The support you need is here - you can do this - and we'll all be here to cheer you on!

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained! There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help you choose the right ones for you and get through the ups and downs.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

I think.... that one of the greatest things about finding 3fc is learning that there are tons of different diets/programs out there. I'm just starting down my weight loss road, but if what I'm doing now doesn't work I'll just click on a different forum. lol You can do anything.
