Doing things differently.
So this is my first post EVER in a forum, and I'm quite inspired by all of you wonderful people on the journey to finding a thinner, healthier self. I am a 25 year old, recovering perfectionist with a knack for self sabotage. I've had a lot of challenges in my life recently and I've decided rather than allow it all to swallow me up, I would, instead, find ways to strengthen myself.
I call this entry "doing things differently" because that is exactly what this is all about for me. I'm taking a look at the habits in my life, and instead of trying to fix them using the same methods that eventually leads me back into the habits, I'm trying different ways. I've never really turned to anyone for help before, let alone a forum group. But it is worth a shot, and after reading all of your supportive entries (well, not all of them...) I am willing to give this a try too.
I am just wrapping up a day of detox (juices, teas, water, oh my!) and I am looking forward to embarking on a dietary lifestyle that is exclusively dedicated to whole food nutrition. Additionally, tomorrow I will officially join a gym. After a year of doing yoga, I've decided I need to kick it up a notch and try cardio and perhaps, a spin class or two!
My starting weight is 190 and my goal is to lose 50 lbs. My mini-goal is 26 lbs by my 26th birthday (jan 18). I also have plans to run a 15k in Feb.
I've built a body that keeps others out and keeps me in. I don't want to use my body as a obstacle to achieving my goals or happiness. I have a lot to look forward to in my life and I'm excited about the opportunity to become a healthy and fit person this early on in my journey.
Away we go!!!!!
