Hi, people!
I'm here because right now, I am in the worst shape of my life. It happened so gradually, I didn't consider it a problem that my pants seemed to shrink in the itty-bittiest of increments while I wasn't watching. It also didn't seem like a problem that parts of my body that used to be muscular gradually became squishy and more fun to hug.
Now, thanks to the shock and horror of realizing that my weight, BMI and measurements are all their worst ever, I'm taking action.
My goals are to gradually reduce my weight, BMI and measurements. Umm, yeah, how maddeningly vague is that!
If you're the queen of figuring out how to set realistic goals, I'd love some pointers.
Here's my plan:
-Intense cardio with a strength training component at least 5 days/week. For now, I'm sticking with DVDs (esp. 30 Day Shred & Women's Health Train for Your Body Type) but might get totally crazy and throw in a Spin class or two.
-At least 5 days a week (Sun-Thurs), eat only the 6 small, balanced meals that I prepared with love ahead of time. I'll write more about this later.
I'll need to hold myself accountable, and this community feels like a safe, supportive space to share progress. I'm glad I found you guys!
As the subject heading says, I'm interested in holistic, healthy, long-term weight management. I'm a big nerd and love learning about disease prevention through nutrition, exercise and stress management since cancer, diabetes and Alzheimer's run (amok!) in my family. I've done a lot of research on lifestyle changes that might help prevent those and other diseases that scare the crap out of me. I want to apply what I've learned as I get myself back on track.
Okay, time to get geared up for today's workout. Woo!
Cheers,
-Mind Over Matter
