I'm a n00b! Hello All!

  • Hi All,
Well I have decided to join a forum and be active on it! I joined here years ago to steal your tickers but never actually used the forum.

I have been fighting a losing battle against my weight for 10 years (Im 29 now). I have been a member on and off of slimming world throughout that time and I think I have had about 2 years away from diet clubs now. I was hypnotised twice in January and loved it. This worked more on self confidence and body image. Since then, I have gained about 2 stone but am much happier.

I have a boyfriend who I have been with for 8 months. He is a wonderful man. I feel very safe, secure and happy around him.

I have thought about my weight for a while now regarding my health. My family has a history of heart disease and high blood pressure. I smoke and I drink too much. I certainly don't do enough exercise.

The reason Ive made a concerted effort to do something about it now is due to a long put off visit to the doctors.

Ive been a bit dizzy every now and then recently. Now it happens every day. Im sure this is something to do with being overweight and it scares me immensely. I went to the doctors and Im to have a blood test tomorrow and meet with a dietician next week.

Im looking for friendly support in keeping me motivated to eat healthily. A sounding board when things get on top of me and a non judgemental ear for when times get tough.

    So, here I am!

Hello all, I hope you are all well!
  • Welcome. I'm new too.
  • Welcome to 3FC and good luck with your goals.

    Hugs
    Michelle
  • Hi mentalisticallycute!
It sounds like you're off to a good start with determination and a can-do attitude to reach your goal of health and happiness!!

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained!

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a short time myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!
