Hi everybody!
I'm new to the boards, trying to do a diet to lose 15 or so stubborn pounds before my wedding next July. Right now, I'm leaning towards trying MediFast. I feel like despite working out four times a week at the gym and eating pretty healthfully (salads, lean proteins, no white flour, fruit) the pounds just never seem to come off!
I'm also 29 and living in NYC. |
Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained!
There are lots of people here with more to lose and lots with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way. I've only been here a short time myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up. So welcome aboard - join in by inspiring us and being inspired! P.S. Let us know how the wedding plans are coming too! |
I just joined the forums a few days ago, myself, but I think it's already proving to be a positive influence. Joined a challenge or two - it helps to make me accountable for the changes in my body. Reading about the success of those who've been here longer is also a great way to stay motivated. I've got quite a bit more to lose than you, but I know you can do it and we're glad to have you!

Hi Zeitlin.
Just a couple of things came to mind when I read your post. Firstly, although you're eating healthily maybe just double check your portion sizes. Secondly, if you haven't done so, maybe talk to the gym about getting a tailored workout plan. If you tell them what you're aiming for then they should be able to come up with a programme to suit. Just a couple of thoughts - hope they help. :wel3fc: |
