Default Hi! New here and hoping to make friends.

Hello everyone

I'm new here so I thought I'd pop by, say hello and tell you a bit about me.

I'm 30, female and I live in the UK with my boyfriend and our beautiful animals.

I've struggled with my weight my whole life and from being a fat child, I developed bulimia in my teens and stayed that way until about 9 years ago. Thanks to that I now have IBS, gastric reflux and because the icky part (purging) was easier to give up than the binging, gradually my weight has risen to unhealthy proportions.

I saw a nutritionist who put me on the GI diet, which is fabulous when I stick to it. However, my sticking power has never been good and whenever the going gets even remotely tough I use it as an excuse to overindulge and ruin all my hard work. I find the period when I get home from work really tough and not stuffing myself full of rubbish then is a real struggle.

So I thought joining an online community might help me stay on track and I'm hoping I can support you guys in your efforts too

With a bit of luck, plenty of these and a lot of determination, I'm hoping I can be healthy weight by this time next year

I look forward to getting to know you all!

Glad you joined us - you'll find all kinds of forums here - I know you'll find the encouragement and support you're looking for.

I've only been here a few weeks but I have found that when I start struggling with temptation or despair, I just log on and start reading about the challenges and victories of others and time flies and so do my thoughts of cheating or being overwhelmed. I didn't even post until very recently - just read everyone else's. I'm sure it will work for you, too.
