I have started, fell off the wagon and started again. I am determined to lose 25 lbs. I really have an issue with eating at work because we have lunch provided daily (Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Bob Evans, pizza, etc.) well you get the picture. I have tried to monitor my points (I have a book that tells me the points for dining out) but I still struggle.
I don't feel satisified so I think maybe I'm doing something wrong. Most days I use all of my points then other days I am way over. I try to adjust these extra points in my weekly points but I must admit I'm really not very diligent in writing everything down.
Been there and done that. What I discovered about myself was that I was doing too much game playing. Chinese, Italian, and fast food etc were in my diet regualrly. Then I changed my mind set about food. I focus on making sure that my food intake is healthy, good food that gives me nutrition. I focused on vegetables, fruits, lean meats, healthy grains and dairy. I was tough at first, but making your food interesting helps. I also bring my own lunch to avoid temptation. To keep myself from feeling totaly deprived, I allow one "splurge" meal a week and one sweet treat. I have lost 82 lbs and still going.
Wow...that's a tough one. I don't know how you can possibly eat all the restaurant food and maintain, much less lose. It's just so caloric that you don't really get enough food to fill you up if you stick to your calories/points. Do you have choices on what you get to order (so you could stick to salad-type options?)...or is it possible for you to bring your own lunch some days (like a lean cuisine)? I have put on a good bit of weight due to the fact that we tend to go out to lunch practically every day at work...but this week I've put my foot down and said NO...and eaten my micro meals...today I even went for a walk afterwards (but for me, this is also good for my wallet...tough for you when work provides lunch!)
Good luck...I'm happy to strategize with you!

Welcome! You have recieved some great advice so far and it was exactly what i would recommend. changing the way you eat can be a struggle at first but then it comes like a habit. Changing what you eat makes all the diffenece in keeping your tummy satisfied. Take baby steps if you have to at first...like eating whole wheat bread instead of white. Making sure you get your water in...making a point to walk four days a week. Eventually you will start seeing progress and it will motivate you even more.
I'm in the same boat with work, and I'm now a maintainer! It can be done!
At my job, the other ladies FILL the place with chocolate...Hershey bars, Krackles, Mr. Goodbar, Hershey's kisses, Reese's PB Cups...you get the picture. There's always something.
Would it be possible for you to take a lunch to work? Do you HAVE to eat what's provided? If not, that may be your only option. Take something filling and GOOD for you, so you have points left for the evening and feel full and satisfied...
