First of all, let me say thank you. Several months ago when I began my journey to lose 130+ pounds, I became a regular lurker here. This site has been inspirational and the information gleaned here has been so helpful I truly love this place, so I hope I can now fit in.
I'm a 56 year old woman who's battled weight gain all her adult life, and been 200+ for most of it. I guess I grew resigned about my size, or simply got tired of having to fight my body every day, so simply let the weight accumulate. At the start of this year, I found myself staring at 282 on the scale and thinking, "Holy ****!" I guess that's what happens from avoiding scales for years on end.
Anyway, something clicked, and I decided I had to lose weight and that's what I started doing. My wonderful husband wanted to lose weight, too, so we've been doing it together, mostly a modified WW points system. Thanks to this site among other sources, I've revamped how and what we eat, and we both exercise more. It's been working for us. He's lost all 40 pounds he needed to lose. I'm... still at it. I've lost 60 pounds, though! That's pretty good. Though I still have 70 pounds to go, I'm feeling great and wearing stylish clothes again. I really think I'll do it this time, but I know the path is paved with traps, setbacks and pitfalls.
So "Hi!" I hope to help others through this site as much as you guys have helped, and will continue to help, me.
