Another New Chick
I just joined yesterday but I've lurked here for a while and also read the Three Fat Chicks on a Diet book - very informative, I wish I'd read it before I tried (and failed at) all those different diets myself!
I'm in my 50's, live in Canada with my husband and cats, work in an office, and need to lose 20 pounds to get out of the obese range and another 20 to get out of the overweight range (BMI).
I've tried every diet there is without much success, and right now I'm working on reducing sugar, flour, rice, potatoes and other starchy foods (doctor's recommendation) since just eating less or counting calories wasn't helping me. I was just fighting the same 3 or 4 pounds over and over.
You all seem very friendly and helpful and I'm looking forward to being part of the group.
