I'm really excited about joining and am looking forward to meeting everyone. I was wondering if most people here are on some sort of a program, i.e. Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, or if they just kind of use common sense and do their own thing? I don't really have a plan just yet, but I know I want to get healthier!
Motivation is a big hinderance for me and I love convenience, such as fast food a bit too much. Any advice for beginners?
That's the wonderful thing around here, there's something for everyone and there' tons of info to make decisions and decide what fits you best. I'm a calorie counter too, whole foods and mostly plants. Good luck and welcome aboard!
Welcome, Shellsy. Five days a week, I am on the ediets Fresh Prepared program (home delivery meal service). On the weekends, I count calories. It has worked well for me. As onderchic and tummygirl pointed out, there is a lot of information here about many different plans. I think it is important to find what works for you and what you can live with for the long haul.
Best of luck on your weight loss journey; I am glad you joined us!
shellsy - I'm new here as well; just joined today.
I think you're smart to join and educate yourself on the various methods of weight loss. I agree with everyone who says you have to decide what method works best for you and for your lifestyle.
Welcome. I am on Omnifast and just joined today. I am a carb counter since my recent diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. All this dieting and counting is foreign to me. Kudos to you for wanting to become healthier.
I was wondering, for those of you who are calorie counters, is there a certain program or website you use as a guide. For instance, I was wondering how you make sure you're getting all the food groups into your diet on a daily basis.
