Default HI, New here, and scared I won't lose any weight

Hi everyone, I just turned 20 on the 12th
I told myself that coming into my 20's I no longer want to be the "fat pretty girl" I want to eat healthy and excersise.

I don't know why it's so hard for me to lose weight, and I thought that by joining this forum, I can see other people's progress, and motivation.
Kudos to everyone trying to, and who did lose weight I'm happy for all of you lovely ladies

If anyone can offer words of encouragement, it will me glady appreciated

Smile You can and will lose the weight!

I am on all kinds of meds and have some medical issues that make it difficult to lose weight but not impossible! If I can do it you can! You have already lost a couple pounds so sure you can lose the weight. Start by eating good healthy foods and just change your habits slowly. Maybe walk or swim or do something fun like bike riding or wii. Don't think of it as a diet, just a healthier you. As you switch out healthier foods for not so healthy, and keep snacks available, and work some of your favorite not so good for you foods in once or twice a week, but use portion control, you will see your body change for the better, and you will feel better, too. I am new here, too. I love this place! Any time of day or night I can come here and see all kinds of new posts and also there are a bunch of old posts you can glean from. Welcome!

Welcome to 3FC!!! You will definitely find the motivation and inspiration here, check out the mini-goals and goals forums for instant inspiration! You can lose the weight, you just have to believe and work hard for it! It's not easy at first, but once a few pounds starts coming off you'll want to be at your goal weight more than you'll want to eat a whole chocolate cake

Oh, and happy birthday!

Thank so much you guys. Sometimes I get discouraged, and my family is no help, they just keep making the "oh ur so fat" comments, when they're not too skinny themselves. *sigh*

Not to mention I get too embarssed to jog outside, I feel as if people are laughing at me running because I'm fat, has anyone else gone through that? And how did u cope? I cannot afford a gym, and no one wants to be my running buddy

I workout at home with DVDs and the Wii along with hand weights and a stability ball. You can do free full length exercise sessions at exercisetv.tv as well.

Hi newyorkgal,

Welcome, I think you'll like it here as everyone is very supportive and friendly. There is even a thread to help keep you accountable with exercise and everyone cheers everyone else on.

Welcome to 3FC! I'm glad you're here! Surf around and settle in. We have forums based on age, eating plan, exercise and more!

Check out the 20 something forum. As for running outside, yeah, there are jerks, but most people don't care what other people do. As for the jerks, why let them stop you from being healthy? You can do this!!!
