Hi from Australia!

  • Hello! I'm new to this forum and I'm writing from Sydney Australia. I'm about 290 pounds, which in Oz is roughly 132 kilograms. I'm a size 22-24 and I'm finally I'm ready to do something about it.

In the past I've been terrible at sticking to diets. After a few weeks, I feel very hard done by, like I'm missing out. So I go off and have a cry and binge eat. But now, I'm nearly 28 and I realise it's time to get the life I want. Time to wear the clothes I want. Time to meet the guy I want!

I've already lost a couple of pounds/kilograms and I've been walking about 30 mins each day. I'd love to meet some other people on here who are on the same journey. I'm quite determined at the moment, but I suspect there will be times when I'll need some help!
  • Welcome Nikki, I am a week into 3fc and I come on here every day, usually at the time of day that is difficult for me as far as overeating goes. I haven't really done much for the other fourms yet because I come here first and end up spending my time here. I know you will find the support you need here. Feel free to contact me any time you want! You can do this!
  • Thanks!
Hey Candygirl, thanks so much for your reply!

I've only just joined here and I was a bit shy about posting at first. But I really need to be accountable and have a place to talk about my struggles, because all my slim friends either don't understand or they are too sympathetic - like "Oh you don't need to lose that much weight" etc etc.

The hardest part is knowing I'm in for the long haul - I have a lot of weight to lose and it's daunting! But ironically, thats what's different about trying to lose weight this time, and why I think I'll be successful - because I've acknowledged that it's a long-term thing, not just something I have to do for a month.

So when is your temptation time? I know for many people it's the afternoon, when your energy slumps and you feel like reaching for the chocolate. For me, it's the night, after dinner.
  • Hi Nikki and welcome to 3FC!

Congrats on your success and good luck with your goals

    Hugs
