Default Anyone trying "Cheat To Lose" by Joel Marion/

Hi Everyone,
Just checking in to see if anyone else is trying the Cheat to Lose diet by Joel Marion. He was a Body For Life Champion and has his own book now. So far so good. I'm going out of town this weekend so I hope I can plan and stay on track.

I personally think weight loss stays off best with an actual lifestyle change. Adding more nutritional items to your day and finding new healthy recipes that you love. I would check your local library for the book before buying

Thanks JillNicole and Inspired,
I borrowed the book from the library. It seems doable. The beginning "priming" phase is 3 weeks. Low carb wk. 1, low gi wk. 2, higher gi wk. 3.
I started on week one sunday and so far so good although I hate to judge any diet by a few days.
This week will be a stretch because I'm not the biggest fan of low carb. But it's just for one week.

I've been looking around the site. What a great place for inspiration and tons of information.

Hi Holly,
I found your post today by "googling" the Cheat to Lose Diet and wondered how it's going thus far. I did the diet last year and was very successful (15 pounds gone in 2 1/2 months). However, I then went on vacation and blew it and found it difficult to get back on it. I've just started it again and began blogging about it so let me know how you are doing! I don't know many folks who do this diet so I'd love to hear about your progress and share tips!

Hi, I am new on this forum,

I started The Cheat to Lose diet on Sunday. The first week being LC, 2nd week lower GI/GL, 3rd week higher GI/GL with low fat, and then one day of eat what you want within reason. After that (the priming stage) you do Sun, Mon of LC, Tues, Wed, of Lower GI/GL foods and Thurs, Fri higher GI/GL foods with low fat, and Saturday eat what you want. There are HIIT exercises to do as well.

The diet is a carb and calorie cycle diet. I think the word "cheat" in the title turns a lot of people off but it can also be called a refeed. It works with the hormone leptin. It tricks your metabolism in a way. Your body doesn't know what to expect everyday so you are able to lose weight easier. I have always been interested in carb cycling. Body builders use it but I am not a body builder. I do work out 3 days per week for an hour but so far so good. I lost 5 lbs since I started on Sunday and next Sunday will be part 2 where I add in fruit and legumes and a few other things that I haven't had in a long time.

The book is available online, which is where I bought it and was really inexpensive. It gives you great scientific information on why it works and also gives you the tools to make it work for you.

If anyone is interested in this diet, let me know. I have been on another couple of forums and the word "cheat" seemed to be the big problem so I decided to explain a bit of it here to see if there was anyone who hit a stall and has tried to up the fats or do meat and egg or other things to try to break the stall and it hasn't worked. I wanted to talk to people who really want to take a chance. I would love to hear any comments.
